2020/09/04 16:00 Letter from the Producer (vol. 6)

Thanks again for playing Fist of the North Star LEGENDS ReVIVE. I’m the Producer, Iwamoto. Tomorrow, 5 September 2020 is the day we celebrate a whole year since the release of LEGENDS ReVIVE. I want to express all my gratitude to all the players, fans, the creator of Fist of the North Star and everyone else involved with this game for allowing us to reach this milestone.
Perhaps due to most people spending more time indoors to avoid risks related to COVID-19, we have noticed that since spring this year the number of daily players keeps on growing. Once again I’m thankful for the time you’ve chosen to spend with us.
Also, the new 1st Anniversary Commercial “I am Kenshiro” that is already available on our official website (in multiple languages) will be shown on TV tomorrow 5 September in the Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka areas of Japan. We hope this will bring new players and revive the interest of older players, helping us create a livelier and fun celebration of this wonderful First Anniversary.

Events

Events up to and starting after 25 August are all about celebrating the anniversary. There are more surprises coming, including some I cannot reveal right now, but here are some of the highlights these days:
1st Anniversary Login Bonus (After Part 1, Parts 2 and 3 will follow)
The Release of UR Muso Tensei Kenshiro
An event for the above character to earn an exclusive costume
The Free Once Daily! Shard Gacha
7,777 Gems for everyone!
The 1st Anniversary event will last until the data update on September 30. Asides from the 7,777 Gems present, we have many more events and rewards as well as login bonuses, don’t miss your chance to earn them all!

Regarding the Character Lineup

While we have just released UR Muso Tensei Kenshiro, we often get questions across social media sharing concerns about future releases. Allow me to share with you some information about our upcoming plans and characters.
We are continuing our revival of the original series
The biggest appeal of LEGENDS ReVIVE is that it is fiercely loyal to the original Manga series, and we intend to keep on that way, adding characters from it into the future. Characters that haven’t been included in the lineup (such as Thouzer’s master, Ogai; or Kaioh’s own master, Jukei; etc.) will be revived in due time.
Different periods (and Techniques) of the same Characters will also be released
Just as with UR Muso Tensei Kenshiro, or Rin, Bat, Rei and Toki, there will also be releases of past characters in a different period of their lives that also feature different Techniques in the future.
We’ll keep challenging ourselves into animating the best moments of the series
We are thinking of bringing in interesting variations, such as 2-in-1 characters like The Last Nanto General or the Harn Brothers. Wouldn’t it be great to bring fateful battle scenes (such as when Kenshiro and Rei protect each other’s backs) to life in the game? There are still some issues we need to work around in order to make such events happen, but we’re going to work very hard to bring the joy of these scenes back to all fans. Keep your expectations high!

About Future Collaborations

Just as we recently did with Virtua Fighter, we intend to have more collaborations with a variety of titles. I will share more details once it’s possible to do so.
One thing I want to make clear is that there will definitely be a collaboration with “Fist of the Blue Sky”!!!!
I’m fully aware that many of you are anxiously waiting for this collaboration, and we are indeed working on it. However “Fist of the Blue Sky” is particularly important for “Fist of the North Star” and we couldn’t possibly do it justice by only adding a few collaboration characters. Shouldn’t “Fist of the Blue Sky” also be as properly revived as “Fist of the North Star”? Because of this, I want to make it into a really special event for all of us. I apologize if I sound... selfish, but I want to ask you for some more time until we make it a reality.

About Future Updates

Since the last Producer’s Letter, we’ve released new updates such as Charms and Unions. We’ve also achieved an improvement of 30% on in-game speeds in both July and August. On Twitter we’ve also received comments about how the game is faster now and many users have noticed the improvements. We’ve also made it easier to collect all rewards at once or to upgrade equipment at once as well. In the future we will keep working on adding new features while also improving the game both on a technical side as well as quality of life improvements, so that fans are able to play daily with as little stress as possible.
As far as new game modes are concerned, I’m thinking of having a Union-centric approach to future developments. While we will still schedule the regular events fans are familiar with, I’d also like to improve Unions so that by next March we are able to have “Union Battles” as a feature. Currently there are many Unions of small sizes, but as time goes on and their levels rise, the amount of guilds that can join will increase and different unions coming together as one becomes possible. By the time Union Battle mode is released, my expectation is that Unions will be enormous groups worthy of their name.

Finally

I remember how during the Half-year Anniversary six months ago we were forced to cancel a live event due to COVID-19. Back then none of us thought this situation would last as long as it has, and we were hoping that by the 1st Anniversary the virus would have subsided and we’d be able to meet with fans face to face. Half a year has passed and while there is no end in sight anytime soon, the development team and I hope that we’ve been able to bring a little joy and light to all players. We will keep on working as hard as we have to bring you the best experience possible. Thank you for playing Fist of the North Star LEGENDS ReVIVE.
