Thank you for playing FIST OF THE NORTH STAR: LEGENDS ReVIVE. I’m Iwamoto, the producer. As the COVID-19 crisis continues across the world, our own work environment has been affected by the state of emergency in place in Japan. We sincerely hope everyone is doing well through the stressful days we have been facing, changes to our lifestyles, work, etc.
Since current social distancing measures may go on for longer than planned, we intend to, as we did some days ago, give out incentives for players to enjoyably play from home and therefore stay home.
Regarding the Service (Update)
In my last letter, I mentioned that due to current measures to stop the virus from spreading might make difficult recording character voices for any upcoming new arrivals. At this moment in time, we foresee that characters released from the end of May onwards will initially be released without voice files. We apologize for the inconveniences this may cause.
We still do not have a recording schedule for any upcoming characters, but we will provide updates to add voices whenever possible. Thank you for understanding our need to prioritize the health of the voice actors and all staff.
Future Update Plans
Our infrastructure to work remotely has improved enough for us to create mid-to-long term plans, some of which I would like to share regarding future updates. Please keep in mind that due to the following still being in development, the schedule may change. Don’t forget to check the News item either in-game or through our official website for more information prior to release.
May: New training feature “Amulets”
Now you’ll be able to pair up each fighter’s tablets with an “Amulet”* to improve their parameters in this new system. Depending on how you use Amulets, your characters will improve in different ways. This way, fights between similar teams (whether by level or team composition) will from now on flow in an interesting new way with this feature.
These new Amulets will be available on the in-game shop to exchange for medals. They will also be available in special events as rewards or through previously available events.
(*Note: The “Amulet” naming may change, its final translation is still pending)
June: Improvements to previous features
In order to make players’ experiences more enjoyable, the following adjustments are planned:
・ Enhancing Equipment can be done all at once (Batch Level Up)
・ The number of Quests you can skip will be increased to 50
・ The UI for skipping Clash Quests will be improved
・ Rewards from Events will be collectable all at once
July: New Guild Associations “Unions”
New communities above Guilds will be created, called Unions*.
Guilds will be able to associate with each other to form even larger groups. The charm of Unions lies in the possibility to have members from Guilds across different servers. You’ll be able to share with more players and dive deep into the world of LEGENDS ReVIVE.
Unions will also have exclusive missions in which all members will be able to participate and share rewards. In the future we plan to add Union vs. Union modes as well. We invite players to join Guilds now and prepare for the upcoming events.
(*Same as Amulets, the Union naming may change upon translation being finalized)
August: New features in preparation for the 1st Year Anniversary.
September: 1st Year Anniversary.
The central pillar of events on our anniversary month of September is the Day of Fist of the North Star on September 13. For this period, we want to express our gratitude to all our players who’ve joined the game during the last year with lots of events and goodies! Details will be announced on a later date, but we can’t wait to share the excitement we’re feeling!
(*September 13 marks the anniversary of the first chapter of the Fist of the North Star being published in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1983. In 2018, the Japan Anniversary Association recognized the day as Fist of the North Star Day.)

I’m praying for the day in which we can all share space and time and a delicious meal with the people each one of us cares about to come as soon as possible. In the meanwhile, we’ll keep working to provide enjoyable content for our players.
